Singapore, 27 December 2006 -- Customers may experience slow Internet access to overseas websites. This is due to an earthquake that occurred in Taiwan on 26 December 2006. We are working closely with our submarine cable consortium members to restore services as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Singapore, 28 December 2006 -- SingTel has activated a Command Centre to monitor and manage the situation.
The focus of the Command Centre is to restore affected services progressively and as quickly as possible. The affected services are:
1. Slow Internet access 2. Disrupted BlackBerry service 3. Disrupted private data network services for some corporate customers
For your information, all voice traffic to Taiwan has been normalised although there may be some congestion.
We continue to work closely with other submarine cable consortium members to restore and repair the damaged cables as soon as possible.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the Taiwan quake.
What crap is that? I mean like, what's with installing cables under water. One BLEEDY quake quakes, BOOM. Gone. Make cables hovering in the air dangit. >.< Anyways, couldn't really use the internet yesterday, well at least i wasn't able to surf other websites besides asia-based. And tell me, what good websites does asia have? Couldn't even login into WindowsLiveMessenger. Torture i tell you, excurciating pain. So talked to Linhong over on the phone till late last night, talked about some guy to guy stuff, how life really is. Veryvery mature stuff for linhong terms. I prefer linhong to Linhong? as in the way it's spelt, so i shall stick with linhong from now on. =) To the 2 girls, who apparantly think highly of Durians. I have a theorie, you know in the Bible, Eve(yes, adam and eve. that eve) sinned by taking the fruit of the Devil, which is recorded as an Apple. I've been thinking, what if that apple happened to look green, pointy, and felt pointy and even gave out a pungent smell? What if that time, the letters D.U.R.I.A.N. were known better as A.P.P.L.E.
